1977 was the last year of the original 3.0 series 930s, and they were considered the best-performing 3.0-liter 930s money could buy. The K-Jetronic fuel system was refined, featuring a higher-output fuel pump, a reinforced 4- speed 915/66 gearbox with 4.222:1 final drive, an upgraded 930/33 transmission to suit the increased 16" wheel size, added ATE brake servo and slightly thicker brake discs. Rear trailing arms were modeled to facilitate adjustable ride height, the front anti-roll-bar diameter was increased from 18mm to 20mm, dashboard air vents and a safety door lock/release were added, as was a prominently positioned turbo boost gauge in the lower part of the 8,000 rpm tachometer.
